Spring Hill man arrested in connection to Kentucky triple homicide

LARGO — A Spring Hill man was arrested Friday night on warrants in connection to the slayings of three people in Kentucky, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

Christopher Cruz Olivo, 46, faces three counts of murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence.

Members of the county's Violent Crimes Task Force stopped Olivo's car at U.S. 19 and Ulmerton Road at about 10:13 p.m. Friday and he was taken into custody. Olivo was wearing a ballistic vest and had an AK-47 rifle in the passenger seat.

Olivo is accused of killing a man and two women inside a Louisville, Kentucky, home. Two juveniles inside were unharmed, but Olivo fled with his 3-year-old daughter. She was safely located in Hernando County, the Sheriff's Office said.

Homicide detectives from the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department are traveling to Florida.

The Violent Crimes Task Force is a county-wide operation comprised of law enforcement from the Sheriff's Office and the St. Petersburg and Clearwater police departments.

Olivo remains at the Pinellas County jail without bail.
